New Mexico Issues Renewable Energy Transmission Bonds
Nov. 21, 2010 - The New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority Board has issued $50 million in bonds to upgrade the state's transmission system and promote the growth of clean energy. The work will take 100 megawatts of wind energy across Public Service Company of New Mexico lines from the High Lonesome Mesa Wind Farm in Torrance County to the Arizona state line. gt; gt;Full story

Nov. 19, 2010 -- Wind power developer First Wind announced a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) and construction financing for the 102-megawatts (MW) expansion of its Utah-based Milford Wind project. Nov 19, 2010 -- The European Union regulator should limit the scope and delay the start of a planned ban on carbon offsets in its emissions-trading system to avoid market distortions, according to Enel SpA, Italy’s biggest utility.The European Commission, the 27-nation bloc’s regulatory arm, is considering a ban as of 2013 on the use of United Nations-sponsored credits related to industrial gases including hydrofluorocarbons and nitrous oxide. gt; gt;Full story
[ACORE Member] Southern California Edison Signs 21 Contracts Totaling More Than 250 Megawatts of Renewable Power
Nov. 19, 2010 -- Southern California Edison (SCE) has signed 21 contracts for nearly 259 megawatts of power, enough to power more than 168,000 average homes. Twenty of the contracts are for electricity produced by solar photovoltaic projects, and one is for 19.5 megawatts of wind power. gt; gt;Full story

Nov. 18, 2010 - A subsidiary of China's GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd (3800.HK) has formed a joint venture with (ACORE member) SolarReserve, a California developer, to build photovoltaic power plants in the United States.The deal, to be announced Thursday, marks a major bid by a Chinese solar company to enter a market dominated by European and U.S. firms. gt; gt;Full story
