Up until now, I have revealed just about everything regarding the new Axis amp; Allies Europe 1940 game except National Objectives and the new optional Technology Rules. This preview goes over the National Objectives and bonus income for both the Europe only game as well as the Global game. The bonus income for the National Objectives is collected during the Collect Income phase.

There are few new details about the rules in Axis amp; Allies Europe 1940 as compared to Axis amp; Allies Pacific 1940. Particularly interesting are the rule regarding neutrality. In this preview I will list out the pertinent rules that will give you a flavor of the new game. When the rules are the same I will reference the preview article for Pacific 1940.

The new upcoming Axis amp; Allies Europe 1940 board game features two new countries: French and Italy. While the fate of France might be sealed in the first few round or two of play, Italy has a real chance to expand it's power over the Mediterranean. This preview has several photos of all of the new French units, which are blue and the Italian units, which are brown.

The latest installment of the Axis amp; Allies board games is Axis amp; Allies Europe 1940 and will be released on August 24, 2010. It will also be "available" during the GenCon gaming conference in Indianapolis, Indiana from August 5-8. This first preview of Europe 1940 game is a few photos of everything pulled directly out of the box. There are no paper IPCs.

In this preview of Axis amp; Allies Pacific 1940 I will go over some of the changes and unique rules of this game. This new edition of rules includes new units, such as mechanized infantry and tactical bombers, naval bases, air bases, new strategic bombing rules, kamikaze, convoys, major and minor industrial complexes, new unit prices, scrambling air units, national objectives, new China rules, and declarations of war. There is a lot to absorb and many rules that can be easily overlooked.

The countries are Japan, USA, China, ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps), and UK. In the last preview we saw the setup and units for Japan. For the next few weeks we will be posting previews of the highly anticipated upcoming Axis amp; Allies Pacific 1940 game. Pacific 1940 will be release on December 15, 2009 but thanks (very much) to Avalon Hill and Wizards of the Coast, Axis amp; Allies.org has an advance review-copy of the game. I have a game scheduled on Sunday so until then, the reviews will be focused on the components of the game. Today's preview is 15 photos of the Japanese units and setup, the game boxes, the rule book, and the other bits such as the control markers, IC markers, AA markers, chips, and dice.
