Paris Fashion Week A/W11: Elie Saab
Elie Saab is known for dramatic red carpet worthy evening looks but this season was his daywear was the focus. Dresses were strong but deceivingly simple in a way that Alber Elbaz continues to master at Lanvin and came in feminine knee length styles and were often nipped in at the waist. Talking of femininity, soft leather blazer jackets were made to accentuate the waist teamed with a simple black pencil skirt which created a womanly silhouette.
Last season red pieces was very successful at retail and just about every magazine had a spread dedicated to the hue and the colour popped up in the collection on a selection of looks, helping to break up the classic winter palette of grey and black. A beautifully tailored jacket came styled over a Roland Mouret style dress and a simple clutch and Saab introduced his signature glam aesthetic on some floor length dresses in the bold hue. Colour also emerged on low cut gowns in aubergine and halter neck sequin gowns in a similar shade. Dresses, cigarette pants and simple round neck tops with cropped sleeves also came in last season's taupe.

Paris Fashion Week A/W11: Kate Moss is smoking for Louis Vuitton
Marc Jacobs ended the Fashion Week season with a bang today at Louis Vuitton. There's something about his work at the brand that always works. After his fall 2009 and S/S11 shows we were all obsessed and were sporting anything Asian-inspired for the next six months and of course, his Mad Men inspired fall 2010 collection left us all wanting to embrace our curves and bring out the midi-length pieces that had been buried in our wardrobes after seasons upon season of succumbing to the mini.
This season was all about the mistress and all things fetish, which is something Giles Deacon tried to work with this week at Emanuel Ungaro. The show began with a model being delivered to the back of the runway through a typically French elevator before walking the runway in a sheer black skirt showing off suspenders teamed with a simple black top and corset. Maid costumes were less minimum wage and more chic mistress trying to seduce her lover. "We associate uniforms with fetish because uniforms suggest roles that require effort and commitment, whether that's a maid's dress or a dressage jacket," he explained after the show. Continuing with the festish theme, Jacobs showed a selection of shiny leather trenches and coats in black and brown options and tweed was slipped in on two piece skirt suits in navy, which added a more sophisticated (and wholesome) feeling to the otherwise provocative collection.

CQ Watch: Kate Moss 'beary' funny new film for Comic Relief

She may have just come off the runway at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris (more on that later!) but Kate Moss still has time to support her favourite charities including Comic Relief. The organisation has teamed up with the supermodel on a funny little video which also stars Misery Bear who is trying to raise money for Red Nose Day. After knocking on her door and downing quite a few glasses of champers together, Moss and Misery decide to take things upstairs, which is when things take a turn for the worse.
It's not the first time Kate has taken the mickey out of herself for Comic Relief, in 2009 she starred in another humorous film with Sadie Frost and Katy Brand.

Paris Fashion Week A/W 2011: Alexander McQueen
Could these be the designs that will inspire a royal wedding gown? Sarah Burton unveiled her A/W '11 collection for Alexander McQueen yesterday, and it had everyone talking as to whether we'll be soon be seeing similar on Kate Middleton next month.
Doing the late designer proud, Burton carved her own path yesterday with a collection appropriately named "The Ice Queen and Her Court." Structured silhouettes, strong shoulders, exaggerated skirts, floaty sleeves, embroidery, feathers and pleats dominated the runway. With metal fastenings at the neck, models appeared almost futuristic in leather cropped trousers with exposed zips, and bondage-like belts around the neckline. The wedding dress - an exquisite creation featuring a 500 metre hand-pleated chiffon train left many wondering... could this be it?

Paris Fashion Week A/W 2011: Chanel
At first glance it didn't seem like the usual Chanel show, but then what is a 'usual' Chanel show these days? Karl Lagerfeld constructed an apocalyptic world using black sand, volcanic rocks and a smoky haze which carried over to his A/W '11 ready-to-wear collection. Sitting perched on the front row was Alexa Chung and Lily Allen, who is in Paris to discuss her wedding dress plans with the Kaiser.
Based on a mostly dark palette, Lagerfeld reinvented Chanel's signature ladylike style into something a little edgier and grungier. From the moment the models stepped out of the the Chanel logo perfume box it was time to get a little rock 'n' roll. To the soundtrack of The Clash, models hit the runway in metallic tweed, skinny black jeans, long capes, and jumpsuits. For evening, Lagerfeld injected metallics, lace, organza, tulle, and black sequins into his fall offering. There was a dash of colour here and there in red and green, but overall it was all about going over to the dark side.

Riccardo Tisci and Alber Elbaz rumoured to replace Galliano at Dior
Riccardo Tisci has all but been confirmed to replace John Galliano at Christian Dior, say fashion insiders.
Derek Blasberg took to Twitter overnight to reveal, "I was just told backstage at the @KatyPerry concert (of all places!) that Riccardo Tisci is CONFIRMED at Dior. I leave #PFW for a second..."
However, Tisci told Style.com that he "felt this was a strong, positive season. And I'm happy at Givenchy." As the rumours intensify, it seems Alber Elbaz could be another candidate in the for the job with Style.com also tweeting: "Not to add to the Dior rumor mill, but people in Paris are asking, why has the Lanvin team been in tears all day?"
This was fueled by further sightings of Jason Wu on the front row at Lanvin on Friday. Could he be about to replace Elbaz who has accepted the Dior position? Oh the goss!
