Image by joanofarctan via FlickrI like to think of advertising as being divided into two groups. One is when we are already in buying mode, helping us to make final decision and other is more desire making, persuading us into something.
The first kind of advertising is the one we don #8217;t mind to see. If you #8217;re looking for a new bicycle, basically what you do is little research and then go and buy one. For bike sellers it #8217;s smart to be in the middle of the buying process (when you #8217;re researching). When we #8217;re in buying mode we want additional possibilities available so we could buy better. When people know what to search and already have desire for something the SEM works great. This ads are aligned with user #8217;s interests.

Look at it. It #8217;s biggest search engine marketing place. While owning 50% of search queries this is not hard to do. More than 80% of internet properties has its contextual advertising solution AdSense as main or supportive advertising monetization of their traffic.

svn+ssh:// on windows xp

I had a few problems, when I tried to add my project to open source community called Gna!. It took me some time to figure it out, but in the end I found out it is simple (things normally are when you get a hang of it). It would be even simpler if the steps for svn+ssh on windows would be in one place.

AOL: 90% clicks on the first page, 4% on second

While the world is looking at users in AOL search data I aggregated it a little.
There has been some discussion on how much #1 place in SERPs really matters. Some say it doesn #8217;t matter so much as long as you are on the first page while others claim most of the search traffic goes to first places. Since we have the AOL search data we can do a little research.
