So, you have decided to go on a cruise this year! It #8217;s an exhilarating vacation for sure, but how do you decide where to go, when to go, and even with whom should you go? There are tons of choices with respect to cruising that can be very confusing. Here are a few insider tips which should help you decide which cruise is the right one for you.

Each of the above cruises can be very appealing each of the choices is very different. So how do you choose a cruise that #8217;s right for you?
1. The first thing you #8217;ll want to consider is when you want to go because the time of the year you choose can dictate the type of cruise you #8217;ll want to go on. Some cruise lines for example don #8217;t offer cruises to the Mediterranean during the winter months, instead transferring their ships to the warmer waters of the Caribbean Sea. Alaskan cruises usually run in limited months as well due to uncertain weather conditions. Ocean crossing cruises (Transatlantic Cruises) are often only available when the seasons change so that cruise lines can reposition their ships to match the peak season tourist demand.
2. The amount of time you can commit to your trip will be a deciding factor when it comes to choosing as well. A typical cruise runs 7-nights, but you can take cruises for as short as 3-4 nights or you can take long cruises #8211; some a month in length or even more. The amount of vacation time you have available may limit you, and taking a cruise for the first time may also be a factor. Limiting your cruise vacation to a shorter cruise may help you decide whether a longer cruise might be in the cards for another time.
3. Choosing a cruise can seem a bit overwhelming, but the main point is to make your cruise selection based on what you want to get out of the experience. If you want a plethora of activity, then you should choose a party cruise line with that outcome in mind. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere however, then you might want to choose more time at sea. If you want to sample world cultures, you should choose a destination-rich type of cruise. Different types of cruises offer different things. Hopefully these suggestions have given you an idea regarding the choices you #8217;ll need to make to get the most satisfaction out of your cruise.

What is a repositioning cruise and how can it save me money on a cruise?
In simplified terms, a repositioning cruise leaves from one port and returns to another. In other words, this type of cruise doesn #8217;t return to the port from where it departed. See, when seasons change, many of the cruise lines change their itineraries.
As an example, Alaska itineraries generally do well during the Spring and Fall but many of those ships will return to warmer climate itineraries for the winter. So, just like birds changing hometowns for the winter, cruise ships will often change homes too depending on the season. Instead of making the reposition without passengers, cruise lines usually offer repositioning cruises during these times at deeply discounted prices.

Your cruise vacation dreams are now a reality. You #8217;ve packed your bags, filled out your cruise documentation, and you #8217;re about to start your adventure. But are you really ready to go? Here are some tips about the embarkation process that you #8217;d be wise to take care of before you head out for your cruise vacation:
Travel Documents and a Change of Clothes
Keep all of your travel documents on your person, including tickets for the cruise, travelers vouchers, your passport, and the immigration forms that the cruise line sent you in advance. By travelers vouchers, I mean bus vouchers that your cruise line sent you to get you from the ship from the airport. Also pack a change of clothes in your carry-on luggage in case it gets delayed.
Standing in Lines is Expected
When you get to the ship, keep a cool head because the embarkation process can be a little chaotic. There are going to be lines, especially at the beginning of the check in process. There will be lots of stressed out people in line so take some deep breaths, relax, and take things in stride. Many of the major cruise lines have loyalty or reward programs and may even have preferred check in areas. Check on this with your travel agent because it can save you lots of time.
Credit Card Required
When checking in, you #8217;ll be required to give the cruise line a credit card for incidentals and on board charges. Keep your room card with you because it serves as your on board credit card and also identifies you for getting on and off the cruise ship at ports of call. Here #8217;s a good tip. If you get to your ship early enough you #8217;ll get two benefits #8211; you #8217;ll get to have lunch on board and you #8217;ll get the best shot at getting the spa and beauty appointments you want.
Smile for the Camera
Just before getting to the gangway you will likely be stopped to pose for a picture that will be taken to commemorate your trip. The picture will be displayed in the cruise ship #8217;s photo gallery in case you decide to purchase it. Get past the photographer and you #8217;re on your way. Happy Cruising!

Why a Cruise Specials alert? Because when it comes to cruise prices many cruise liners have become a little more covert in their cruise pricing operations #8211; charging less for the ticket while assessing a number of extra fees and surcharges at embarkation.
Cruise Ship Port Charges
Cruise liners have always had an #8220;advertised #8221; price and a #8220;real #8221; price #8211; the price after they assess the various port charges and taxes. As an example, I recently booked a 5 day cruise for myself in the cheapest available cabin at a price of $420. The port charges however added another $198.77 making the actual cruise $618.77. Holy Shmoly! There #8217;s also added expenses for shore excursions, spa treatments, alcoholic drinks, even soft drinks #8230; and tips can easily add another $50 to the total outlay of your cruise.

New Disney Ship Disney Dream Boasts Exciting New Features
Disney has just revealed some exciting new features for their newest cruise ship addition, the 128,000 ton Disney Dream. One of the most innovative and alluring features is a 765-foot long water coaster ride that will reportedly be called the AquaDuck. The Dream will also boast #8220;virtual portholes #8221; in the inside cabins which will be fed by video cameras on the outside of the ship.
According to the official Disney Cruise Website,
#8220;To step aboard the Disney Dream is to be instantly transported to an age of adventure and wonder, where elegance and sophistication mingle with Disney storytelling and whimsy. Third, contact a couple travel agencies and speak to their cruise specialists. These folks specialize in cruises and can tell you just about everything you want to know on the subject.
