Welcome to the Internet Living Swahili Dictionary
Welcome to the Kamusi Project, home of the Internet Living Swahili Dictionary.
The Kamusi Project is a participatory international effort dedicated to the languages of Africa. Our mission is to produce dictionaries and other resources for African languages, and to make those resources available everywhere to everyone.
Africa's one billion people speak about 2000 languages. We intend to build a free, unified dictionary for many of these languages, called PALDO - the Pan-African Living Dictionary Online. Our goal, simply stated: Every Word in Africa.
You can help support our work by becoming a member of the Kamusi Project, buying books or merchandise, or donating generously. Every time 100 new members join the Kamusi Project, one new member and one loyal member will be chosen at random to receive their choice of select Kamusi award items
The Kamusi Project is the joint product of two non-profit, non-governmental organizations:
#8226; Kamusi Project International, a tax-exempt public charity registered in Switzerland, is responsible for all project activities outside of the United States
#8226; Kamusi Project USA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt American public charity, and is responsible for all project activities within the US
