LOL: American parents worried Kinect sex games will be advertised on Nickelodeon
An article from KFoxTV which really belongs on one of those spoof news sites here! Essentially, they are running an article in which they quote parents who are concered that Kinect sex games will be advertisied on Children's TV channels such as Nickelodeon. You could buy Two 160GB PS3's for the price of the T500 RS GT 5 wheel
Well, just a few days ago we revealed that the official GT 5 wheel (T500 RS) will be going on sale in the UK for £449.99. Well today, we have received word that the respective wheel will be going on sale in the US for $599 as of January 5th. Someone seems to think that Gran Turismo gamers are made of money?!?!?! In reference to the title, which is better? Two 160GB PS3 consoles or just 1 steering wheel? They both cost the same scarily enough!

Look out Jay Leno, Black Ops is seriously kicking your ass
On Christmas Eve, Activision released some very interesting statistics in reference to the sheer amount of players on Black Ops. Did you know that the amount of registered Black Ops payers is bigger than the entire weekly audience of Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kemmel COMBINED?!?! The Gran Turismo 5 'Christmas' cars are really for Japan only
Bad news GT 5 owners, even if you have a Japanese PSN account. ERK has informed us via Twitter that the Gran Turismo 5 Japanese Christmas gift cars will not work outside of Japan even if you have a Japanese PSN account - "The #GT5 Japanese Xmas cars don't work even if you have a Japanese #PSN account outside of Japan. I've tried twice now." Remember you can keep in touch with Maxconsole on Twitter @Maxconsoletweet. Essentially, you really do need a Japanese copy of the game if you want the special presents.

Is this the first ever real picture of the PSP 2?
Some supposed shots of the PSP 2 have surfaced from a scanned magazine. The respective 'PSP2' is shown to the left. Although further inspection suggests that it is just a re-rendered version of the PSP 2 development kit posted previously. Although no one is 100 percent sure for now...

Over 9,000 PS3 owners sign petition to demand Black Ops refund
PS3 owners aren't happy. Well a very small percentage of them. Those PS3 owners with Black ops are demanding a full refund because the game is 'inferior' to the Xbox 360 version. Over 9,000 signatures have been accrued and the petition cites the PS3 version of the game has been hit by sub par graphics, buggy software as well as less features!

Purchased a buggy game? You're allowed a refund in the UK!
The head of the UK's trading standards has publicly stated that anyone who buys a game that contains bugs is entitled to a full refund from the retailer even if the game and its contents have been used (to find out if it is buggy), coming under another section of the same law that entitled all quot;Phat quot; ps3 owners to either a full refund or partial compensation from retailers when Sony illegally removed the other OS function that was included when they bought the ps3 this would (for example) allow anyone who got Call of Duty: Black Ops or any number of other titles for Xmas to return them for a full refund. If any store refuses to offer a complete refund mention quot;The Sale of Goods Act 1979 quot; and should the store still not comply just contact your local trading standards office as soon as you can.

iPad 2 to ship late jan / early feb
Reports from japan are saying that Apples new version of its i-pad will be on sale in a month or so, the new version with its flat back and reduced size (just) will not have usb or sd as has been suggested by some early photos as it turns out the quot;slot quot; in leaked photos is in fact covered in a mesh and contains a wide range built in speaker, the ambient light sensor has a smaller hole and is moved to the top / centre, seems it will have a facetime camera and some ability to shoot video.

What could MS do to fix the xbox in 2011?
A third party report takes a look at how MS can improve the Xbox further in 2011. OK, so yes, they finally seem to have fixed the hardware but what about averything else thats bad or wrong? Having 3 different media playback systems is stupid (only one of which works with kinect), steam and netflix have shown how dlc can be handled well on multiple platforms why is it so hard on the 360 and why cant more be done to remove racist or homophobic or cheats from xbl are amongst the questions asked on the windows supersite.

HMV to join Amazon in online preowned games?
High street retailer HMV is following the lead of Amazon.co.uk by considering the implementation of pre-owned trading of game titles via its website. The renowned music, film and game chain is looking into introducing an online model in 2011, to complement its in-store Re/Play service. Just last week, Amazon started allowing customers to buy and sell second-hand titles at competitive prices. Do you want to see more high street stores offer a pre-owned trade service via their websites? And do you think it is a good idea?

Wii and PSP dominate Japanese sales charts
Despite most of the population not celebrating xmas the large jump in console sales suggests that there is still quit a bit of gift giving going on in the land of the rising sun. With the psp completely dominating the handheld sales by a massive margin it certainly shows that (at least in japan) its far from dead (except of course the psp go), in the home market nintendo must be happy at sales almost double the ps3 whilst the 360 continues to fail horribly.

So what was the best selling game this Xmas? It wasn't CoD!
Although multi format titles dominated the top 3 once sales were broken down by system the charts looked a little different, so instead of cod:bo being number one by totalling its sales across wii, 360, ps3, pc, ds etc it allows not only the exclusive titles chance to shine but also shows which formats are getting the sales of multi format titles. Anyway here is the uk xmas top 10 with wii and ps3 getting 3 slots each and the 360 getting 4...

Wii fit Dominates home exercise market, beats fitness DVD's
Celebrity fitness games and more importantly (for them) fitness dvd's have failed to gain any foothold this christmas as nintendos wii fit and wii fit plus have all but wiped them out. Interesting statistics ensue for any interested fitness buffs out there.

Sony: PSN still losing money but should be profitable next year
A Sony executive has reportedly revealed that PSN is still losing money. However, PSN's financials have been improving and the company expects the respective service to turn a profit next year. Currently, the service plays host to 60 million registered members which shows the great growth experienced.
