E71 vs E71x
pNokia, one of the world leading manufacturer of mobile devices releases phones for corporate use. E71 and E71x are two of the Smart Phones Nokia has to offer. Having the same ideology of style, what makes E71 unique to E71x? We can explore in another post, how the new Nokia E73 Mode will change things.
Both phones are designated for email services such as Mail for Exchange, Nokia Messaging (E71) and XpressMail (E71x). It has the same mono block style having a fully functional QWERTY keyboard. E71x is release exclusively for AT amp;T use while the other is for any network provider.
Being a SmartPhones, it has numerous services. It has a wide array of application for everyone #8217;s need. It has a GPS functionality for navigation – AT amp;T Navigation (E71x) and Nokia Maps (E71). Possible synchronization to the computer using the PC Suite application. Capable as well in Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP). More application awaiting to be down loadable from the Ovi store.
These devices have most similarity on the physical aspect. You can just notice the difference that E71x have AT amp;T Sticker while the former has none. As well as the front camera, E71 has that. Internally, it has also great difference. They both run with Symbian 60 software however, E71 has FP1 and E71x is a FP2.
Having a wide spread of usage, indeed, these phones are really a must have one.

The E71x was released  some months ago as an exclusive version of the classic E71 by AT amp;T. The E71x has some improvements over the old E71:  Feature Pack 2 was added together with a slightly improved keyboard made out of a more rubbery material than in the E71. Nokia E71 and E71x Planes Theme: Aviator For Plane Fans! Boeing Theme
Sometimes when I browse new themes for my Nokia devices, specially the E71; it can happen two things. Either I don #8217;t find what I was looking for and just install the most decent one, or I find exactly, and sometimes even more,  than what I was looking for. Well, today I found one of those themes that are more than I could ask for.
The theme comes from the genius themer, Tehkseven who keeps impressing and surprising the S60 fans with  his amazing S60 themes. And with his latest theme he has done it again, the name of the theme is aviator. This cool looking theme is inspired in planes as it name reveals. The theme has l0ts of cool features such as transparencies and of course 100SVG icons in three different styles that the user can choose from. Seven which is Tehsevens icon set with over 100 icons, then Ovi and the regular icons that already come with tthe Nokia E71. The theme is just amazing, the homescreen is even more amazing, and good news is that is totally free. Nokia E71 Tips: Make Your E71 More Efficient by Adding Tons of Shortcuts
The Nokia E71 is an amazing device to use with shortcuts, it has plenty of buttons in its face allowing the user to launch any app really fast. In fact, there is an unknown feature on the E71 where you can program the 4 keys around the dpad to open something in long press. But there is an application that definitively masters shortcuts, it is called #8221;Cute Keys #8221; and it is totally amazing! And free!
For example, imagine if you could write an SMS to Samantha by just pressing @ and S. By just pressing this two buttons the E71 will open a new SMS that you can write to Samantha! Free Nokia E71 Software: Nokia Point and Find Is Totally Amazing
Some days ago I had to set up again my Nokia E71, while doing this I discovered a whole new bunch of apps that either I didn #8217;t know or I didn #8217;t had the time to install. And among the apps that I installed on my Nokia E71 is Nokia Point and Find, a really cool app that is ttotally awesome, it does magic!
Well, of course is not a magical app, but it is pretty unbelievable and amazing. This app is Point and Find, a Nokia operated service that is available worldwide. Nokia Point and Find is a very advanced app, is the kind of app that lets everyone speechless but Nokia doesn #8217;t get marketing out of it, a thing Apple does and knows how to do very well.
You could always check out software for newer models, such as Nokia E73 themes.
Basically point and find, finds information about things you point to with your E71s camera. For example, a movie poster; just point with the E71 to the movie poster and your E71 will identify the movie and the will sshow you the trailer and movie times near you. But no only that, when shopping you can just point your E71 to the barcode of a product and your E71 will recognize it and show you the lowest price online; a pretty amazing feature. But the coolest one is with sights, lets say you are in the Eifflel Tower in Paris, just point at it and your E71 will tell you everything about it; it works with most historical structures. Free E71 and E71x Software: Shazam! Find The Name of That Song
There are some amazing apps for the E71 and E71x coming lately, the updated google maps and google search improved greatly over the previous versions. But the latest and coolest app at the moment is Shazam; a very useful app that you can get absolutely free! And what is Shazam? Well, if you ever found yourself loving a song frequently played on the radio or anywhere else, but don #8217;t know the name, you have found the correct app. With Shazam you can just place your E71 near the speaker playing the unknown song and Shazam will tell you everything about it: name, artist, album and more detailed info from the song. If the Nokia Music store is available in your country, you can even buy the song directly from your app.
Shazam is really useful since finding the name of an unknown song is really difficult. And I have to say that the app is totally amazing, it recognized even really unknown songs that I thought it would never recognize! The Shazam app is free at the moment, but there are rumors about a future charge for this great app. Anyway, you can download this app at the Ovi Store: Download Shazam.

E71 Software: Ovi Contacts | Have You Tried It?
Recently while playing with a Nokia N97 I discovered an application that has been long out there, Ovi Contacts. I had heard of it before but never bothered to find out what it really was. And when I started using it, I realised I had been missing a lot!
In the N97, Ovi Contacts comes with the latest update, so I started using it. Ovi Contacts is a messenger for Nokia devices, more or less like the Blackberry Messenger for Nokia phones. With Ovi Contacts you can chat with friends using supported Nokia phones, or friends using Google Talk. Ovi Contacts allows you to chat anytime anywhere with all your friends and family, definitively very very useful. With Ovi Contacts you can also do other things, for example send your location to someone that then can use Nokia Maps to reach you easily.  You can also update your status like on Facebook or Twitter and share the song to which you are listening to on your Nokia device at that moment. The cool thing about Ovi Contacts is that is has an option to start the app when the phone starts, so you are always available to chat and vice-versa. You can also choose an avatar and nickname.
Still the bad thing about Ovi Contacts, and Blackberry Messenger has the same problem, is that you need a Nokia device for it to work. Almost every S60 device is compatible, of course the E71 is included. And I have to say the E71 is a great phone to use Ovi Contacts in because of the keyboard. Here you can get Ovi Contacts: NBL

E71 and E71x Apps: Google Search and Google Maps Updated!
Google is the responsible for a couple of the greatest applications for S60 out there, just Google Maps alone would win over any other app, but we also got YouTube and Search from Google. The great news are that this three apps were updated and improved. Google Search and YouTube just got a few improvements and stability and bug fixes as always, anyway, this apps are just amazing. If didn #8217;t know the Google Search app you have been missing a lot, Google Search allows you to search anything from places on Google Maps or videos on YouTube right on the homescreen/desktop of your Nokia E71 or E71x, an amazing app that completely improved the way I use my E71.
But the big improvement was made on the Google Maps application, the new #8221;Layers #8221; were added making Google Maps even better.  Layers shows users layers of information to the user, for example traffic amp;incident reports and points of interest. But definitively the coolest Layer is the Wikipedia one that gives you information about the place you are in at that moment. Not to mention you can create your own layers from your PC and then see them on your Nokia E71 using Google Maps.
Google Apps are awesome, but unfortunately they don #8217;t let the users know when there is a new version. To update the apps you have to download them again by going to the mobile Google site and hitting #8221;more #8221; than Maps, YouTUbe and Search by separate.
