IndieCommerce Stores Now Selling Google eBooks™
On December 6, indie booksellers truly became a part of the digital game with the launch of Google eBooks trade; on IndieCommerce websites. An array of resources to help participating stores sell, market, and answer questions about e-books is now available on the new site, www.IndieCommerce.com. (An IndieCommerce user name and password is necessary to access the marketing materials.) There's also a wealth of info for ABA members interested in learning about IndieCommerce. Market With IndieBound Holiday Designs!
Dozens of new IndieBound holiday designs and updated favorites are now available in the Bookseller DIY. Designs for posters, gift tags, bookmarks, and a Wish List counter card can be used as is, or you can customize them with store info. A BookWeb username and password are all that rsquo;s needed to get started. (Don rsquo;t have a username and password? Get one now.)

Wi6 Fully Booked -- Waiting List Now Forming
ABA's Annual Winter Institute -- scheduled for Washington, D.C., from January 19 - 21, 2011 -- is now fully booked. p ABA members who would like to add their names to a waiting list for the event or for the host hotel should e-mail ABA's Member Relationship Managers. As cancellations are received, spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Booksellers who are registered can sign up now for the Indie Store Tour and make appointments for the Consultation Station.

Qualifying small businesses can now receive a tax credit so that the cost of covering employee heath care is more affordable.p Here's a lot more information about how to know if your business qualifies and how to calculate your tax credit. And here's a New York Times story about how the tax credit helped the Utah indie bookstore The King's English.
The 2010 Indie Bestsellers are available in three formats to help stores spur holiday and post-New Year rsquo;s Day sales. The lists in hardcover, paperback, and children rsquo;s are perfect for use in displays, as bag stuffers and handouts, or in print and electronic newsletters.
