Major shift in Congressional balance of power
The GOP has taken control of the U.S. House of Representatives picking up at least 61 seats. Democrats held on to the Senate, although Republicans gained six seats, with two contests, Washington and Alaska, too close to call.
This surge will also mean additional clout for opponents of the tort system, with attacks on Medical Malpractice certain to be the first order of business for the House.
