New Release Tuesdays: The October 19th Edition

Looks like Christmas comes early this year. Not only did we have a massive amount of new releases, but we also have a pretty good set of prime titles, including DJ Hero 2, EA Sports MMA, Vanquish (which should be pretty good, despite boasting a no multiplayer and a brutally short campaign), Time Crisis: Razing Storm, and the most anticipated title of the week - Fallout New Vegas.
App Update

Some of you may have noticed an absurd amount of updates between Friday October 8th and today, Tuesday October 12th. As the current version of the app does not support hardware, special guards have to be set in place on the backend side of things to omit the hardware new items and updates to be pushed to the app - doing so will basically lock the app and require a reboot.
Anyway, while nothing incorrect was sent to your app, something was missed which was essentially setting an incorrect number in-app as the last updated value. As this number may have been a random number, you were getting new updates + the offset of your random number, which, for some, was reported as high as 2300 values. Anyway, the error has been addressed and correctly identified and all should be operating correctly.

So I can finally pick up Borderlands - I missed it when it launched at Walmart for $40, and once the DLC started popping up all over the place it was just worth it to wait. Besides, most people that use this site have a backlog to widdle away at, and that's what I did instead. This week also sees Lucha Libre, Medal of Honor, Super Scribblenauts, Sengoku Basara, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Disney's Sing It Party Hits, DJ Max Portable 3, and Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals. Among other crap.
The More You Know!

Just a quick update to inform the masses of what apparently isn't readily known (and seems redundant, as the people who don't know are the ones who don't read the news posts) - we've tried to increase the knowledge about TIVS.ca now tracking and indexing the Canadian trade in values of hardware and accessories at all major National retailers, and have thus included links at the tops of all the regular trade-in-value pages. Footer to come!
We somehow missed the Wii Balance Board with our initial hardware push, and despite updating with most (all?) Playstation Move compatible games, we overlooked the actual Move device controllers and have added those as well.
In site changes, we updated the maximum price TIV suggestion to $250 to account for possibly Playstation 3 promotions - and to prevent unnecessary scrolling on our regular game suggestion pages limited those (read: non-hardware) to a $70 maximum.
I've almost finished another side-project of mine (details to come on launch) which has had priority above of the TIVS app (which is also being wedged between my personal life), but with it nearing completion those empty gaps might be spent (at least occasionally) on updating the TIVS.ca iPhone and iPod touch app. We've currently got a sample list of things we'd like to implement, but so as not to back ourselves into a corner we'll simply open the airwaves to comments and recommend you voice your opinions. If we find a recurring theme or something heavily backs up what we planned on implementing, it will have a better shot of getting done. That reminds us - the last review we received on the app store as well as a few others obviously haven't been updated in a while - we correctly found and addressed the freezing issue and still reviews have not been rectified. We won't be pushing an update until we have a 5 star average rating!
Call it what you will, but we have to get something out of this project! (And in case you didn't get the hint, we're kindly asking you to rate our app if you use it!)

A few big franchise drops today with FIFA Soccer 11, NBA 2K11 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011. We also see the nostalgia-inducing NBA Jam for the Wii (also available as a digital download on the PSN store and XBL Marketplace), Def Jam's Rapstar, the not-so-Castlevania-ey Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction. Also, an exclusive (non-shovelware) DS franchise game in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, and the moderately anticipated Wii Party.

This time of year is traditionally good, and this week points to (finally!) a surge of great releases. Between the missed gems in Mini Ninjas DS, Army of Two: The 40th Day on the PSP, Tony Hawk: Ride, CSI Deadly Intent DS and NHL Slapshot, we've also got Dead Rising 2, FIFA Soccer 11, the latest cash-grab in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Plants vs. Zombies, MorphX and Quantum Theory.
