As an international non-profit organization, United Planet (UP) strives to create a world in which all people understand, respect, and support one another. United Planet #39;s global network of leaders and volunteers fosters cross-cultural understanding and addresses shared challenges to unite the world in a community beyond borders. The underlying principle of our programs is the concept of Relational Diplomacy -- recognizing that the relationship between people of diverse backgrounds is the basic building block for uniting the world. United Planet rsquo;s innovative programs are designed to expose our common human bonds, generate respect and appreciation for our cultural, racial, and religious diversity, and enrich lives of our neighbors worldwide.

United Planet is proud to announce the start of our annual United Planet Day Writing and Photo/Video Contest! Each year we host this event to celebrate United Planet Day 2010, the one day during the Fall Equinox when the sun shines on every location on earth for an equal amount of time.

I would like to extend my deepest thanks to all of you--the incredible volunteers, supporters, and friends, who have all worked hard in communities near and far to empower and unite the world.
I hope that you like our new website! It has been a massive team effort. Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible, especially Amanda, Jess, Matt, Caroline, Samantha, Maria, Theresa, Katherine, Leo, Kumi, Rasha, Coralie, Li, Sven, Alyssa, Lucille, Chandra, Jonathan, Vincent, Mel, Jeffrey, and Rami among many others!
On behalf of all the communities in which we serve, thanks to all of our United Planet volunteers for giving over 250,000 hours of community service to education, healthcare, women rsquo;s empowerment, the environment, street children and orphan care, and so much more.
