The Volunteer Ministers program was launched more than 30 years ago, in response to an appeal by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.Noting a tremendous downturn in the level of ethics and morality in society, and a consequent increase in drugs and crime, Mr. Hubbard wrote, “If one does not like the crime, cruelty, injustice and violence of this society, he can do something about it. Disaster Response Assessment Team Underway
March 10, 2011, 9:46pm PST: A 9.0 earthquake struck Japan triggering a Tsunami, displacing hundreds of thousands.
As a response to the recent earthquakes in Japan and the following tsunami, Scientology Volunteer Minister units in Japan, Australia and New Zealand have been activated to set up disaster response logistics and help points in the North-East of Japan as well as in Tokyo.Several assessment teams are reporting from the area and we are working on food and shelter logistics.
